The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Adedayo Faduyile, has been declared the winner of the Ondo South Senatorial Bye-Election held on Saturday.
The Returning Officer, Professor Gbenga Ibileye, announced the result at the collation centre in Okitipupa, Ondo State, declaring Faduyile the winner after securing the highest number of votes cast.
Faduyile, a former National President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and Special Adviser on Health to the Ondo State Governor, polled 68,474 votes to defeat candidates of the African People's Movement (APM), Action People's Party (APP), and Boot Party.
His victory cements the APC’s hold on the Ondo South Senatorial District following a keenly contested bye-election.
