The entire body of pensioners in Ondo State, under the auspices of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), has expressed immense joy, heartfelt appreciation, and deep gratitude to the Ondo State Government following the approval of full free health insurance coverage for pensioners by the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
Describing the initiative as historic and unprecedented, the pensioners commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his visionary and compassionate leadership, noting that the gesture reflects a strong commitment to the welfare, dignity, and well-being of senior citizens who dedicated the most productive years of their lives to the service and development of Ondo State.
According to the union, the approval of free health insurance coverage has brought renewed hope, relief, and reassurance to thousands of pensioners across the state, many of whom are confronted with age-related health challenges and the rising cost of medical care.
The pensioners stated that Governor Aiyedatiwa has once again demonstrated that his administration remains people-focused and genuinely concerned about the welfare of all citizens, particularly the elderly who deserve adequate care, respect, and support after years of meritorious service to society.
They further emphasized that the initiative will significantly reduce the financial burden associated with healthcare expenses and improve the overall quality of life of pensioners throughout the state.
The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Ondo State Council, therefore conveyed its sincere appreciation and unreserved commendation to the governor for what it described as a remarkable display of genuine concern and a landmark achievement in the history of pensioners' welfare in the state.
The union also offered prayers for Governor Aiyedatiwa, asking Almighty God to continue to bless him with wisdom, sound health, strength, and greater accomplishments as he leads Ondo State towards sustained growth, prosperity, and development.
