Nigerian music star D’banj brought together a colourful mix of entertainers, entrepreneurs and creatives for a breakfast party in Lagos to celebrate the release of his latest single, “Safe Space.”
The intimate gathering, held at The Breakfast Club in Ikoyi, Lagos, combined music, food, fitness and lively conversations as guests celebrated the new song and explored the personal meaning of having a “safe space.”
Among those who joined D’banj at the event were Afrobeat icon Seun Kuti, rapper Ice Prince, singer Dare Art Alade, musician Naeto C, actor Deyemi Okanlawon, PiggyVest executive Josh, Chief Idris Olorunnimbe, media personality Ehiz, Samantha Walsh and singer Reekado Banks.
With D’banj’s close circle at the centre of the celebration, guests participated in a range of activities, including salsa and yoga sessions, music, conversations and games.
D’banj later took the celebration from the breakfast table to the stage, performing “Safe Space” alongside other crowd-pleasing moments that had guests singing and dancing along.
Another highlight was the superfan reward segment, where guests who downloaded the song through the CREAM platform had an opportunity to receive rewards. Merchandise and other gifts were also distributed during the event.
Beyond the music and entertainment, the gathering provided an opportunity for guests to reflect on the idea behind the song. Attendees shared what “safe space” means to them, including the people, places and experiences where they feel accepted, comfortable and at peace.
The conversations gave the event a more personal touch, reinforcing the broader message of the song and encouraging guests to connect with the concept in their own ways.
For D’banj, the gathering served not only as a release celebration but also as an opportunity to bring friends, colleagues and fans together in an atmosphere centred on music, friendship and shared experiences.
